Dr. Lowe himself
With over 40 years experience in the fields of medicinal chemistry, energy, wellness and scientific research, Dr. Lowe has authored several articles and some fifteen books to his credit, with his most recent book being ''The Prostate Cancer Guide - A Resource for Jamaican Men & Their Families''. This was officially launched in 2010 and is co-authored with Dr. Perceval Bahado-Singh.
He has recently presented his findings on Jamaican medicinal plants, especially his recent discoveries with the Ball Moss plant (Tillandsia Recurvata), in conjunction with his cancer research. The occasion was the eighth Annual Congress of International Drug Discovery Science and Technology (IDDST) held in Beijing, China October 23-25, 2010.
Henry Lowe was born in Kingston where he attended the Calabar High School (O'Levels), later attending the University of the West Indies, (B.Sc.). In Australia he studied at the University of Sydney, M.Sc. He later moved on to Manchester University, (Ph.D). His academic journey contineued to Bolton Institute of Technology England, (Dip. Technical Education), and it was then on to the Harvard University and M.I.T, U.S.A., (Post Doctoral Studies).
The scientist is also the operator of Eden Gardens, a wellness centre which in recent times has seen an influx of US$2,000,000. As it stands, Dr. Lowe has aims of redeveloping the property with the original premise of serving as a fully functional wellness resort and treatment facility. Dr. Lowe has previously served as President and CEO of Blue Cross Jamaica (health insurance), a company which has since been acquired by Sagicor Life Jamaica.
